Apple Cheese Torte


Another delicious recipe that my old friend Sheryl used to make for girls nights. It's an easy and yummy dessert that is not overly sweet. Serves 8-10

Ingredients:
Crust:
1/2 cup Butter
1/3 cup Sugar
1 cup Flour
1/3 cup Raspberry Jam
Filling:
250g Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
Topping:
1/3 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 cup sliced Apples
1/4 cup sliced Almonds

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, then blend in flour. Press in to bottom and 1/4 inch up sides of an 8-9 inch springform pan. Cover crust with jam.
Beat filling ingredients until smooth, and spread carefully on top of jam without mixing.
Toss apples, sugar, and cinnamon, the sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Bake: 10 minutes at 450, then 30 minutes at 350.
Cool slightly, remove pan side.
